Having your own custom or personal Gulden address is rather cool. At least, I think so 🙂 You can make it with Vanitygen. Vanitygen was made to generate Bitcoin addresses but you can use it for any other crypto address. You can use the option X and then choose what letter you want the address to start with. More info about address prefixes found here. For Gulden we use -X 38.
Generating your own address with private key is also a great way make an offline wallet. This way you can keep your coins secure and you don’t need to worry about your computer crashes or your backup USB stick will fail in time. Having a digital back up AND an offline backup is also a good idea. For extra security best make a bootable USB stick with Linux on it, how to do this check this link (Dutch). Yes we are back again, long time no update here but I am trying to spend some more time again on my website. I have been busy with two new things in the world of crypto coins, first one is : Gulden ,great (scrypt) coin made in Holland ! awesome features, fast confirmations, strong community, great support, many nice features also check: nocks . Second is the Raspberry Pi 3 ! released on february 29 2016 and it is 64 bit ! also build-in wifi and blue-tooth. So I ordered on with powersupply and 32GB SDcard at Sossolutions.nl and received the Pi3 within 2 days. Now combine the two, let install the Gulden wallet on the Raspberry Pi 3.
First thing is to install an OS on the Pi 3, I choose Raspbian and used the NOOBS way to install it, simply following their instructions and you have installed Raspbain in no time.
Once Raspbian is installed and your Pi is started up we can start to install the Gulden wallet. Continue reading
I mined at btcguild, triplemining and st Eligius pools, they are stable and reliable pools. But then I read on bitcointalk about a new pool: CKPOOL made by: ckpool code by ckolivas and ckdb code by kano.
You can mine at http://www.kano.is with PPLNS reward with (only) 0.9% fee. It has a great performance. I mine at this pool for some days now and I see it has better performance than other pools I used before.
If you are a real dare-devil: mine SOLO at http://solo.ckpool.org. This pool is awesome, you mine together with other miners to find a block but if you are the one that finds the block you will get the whole reward of 25 BTC!! (minus a small fee of 0.5%). It is anonymous, just mine just with your walletaddress as worker, no registration required. I know the change you will find a block is very smal, it’s like a gamble but it is fun and exciting.

Today I was wondering why the first 8 build OSM (One String Miner) only hash between 23 en 26 GHs. I measured the voltage input in the boards: 11.4 V !! The PCI-E connectors from the PSU “only” supply 11.4V instead of 12V. Weird, I will investigate tomorrow. I had 4 DIY-1 kits left, build the first one just standard: pcb + heatsink. For power I used a cheap 12V 10A PSU from Dealextreme. You can adjust the 12V power output on the PSU some time for some tests:
No thermal paste between PCB and Heatsink + Artic F8 Fan (very low RPM)
With thermal paste between PCB and Heatsink + No Fan We will see how temperate gets higher after x seconds
Today I received my One String Miners. Great design by C-scape and Intron based on Bitfury chips. I won some miners at an auction at bitcointalk.com . Ben Turas is selling these great miners, designed in the Netherlands, produced in Asia!

The OSM is based on Bitfury chips and each board contains 15 chips, hashing 25+ GH/s without heat sink and 30+ GH/s with heat sink. Each board runs from a single 12V supply, using ~25W.
I have 4 DIY1 and 4 DIY2 kits. This evening I build up the 4 DIY2 kits and build a small tower. Quality of the boards and other materials is high. Building was very easy. Screw the pcb to the heatsink, connect the wires to the powerconnectors, that’s about it. I used a BeQuiet PurePower 600W PSU I had laying around. Attached two fans, all in a temporary setup. 10 Port USB Hub is a Rosewill RHB-500. I used an ArchLinux PC, downloaded and compiled CGminer 3.12.3, turned on the miners, started CGMiner and it detected all miners. 3 miners were “ZOMBIE” at first but after just 10 seconds all boards were recognized and hashing. All works great with any issues. Temperatuur is stable with only 2 fans (in the most efficient position), 30 to 40 degrees Celcius. I haven’t tuned them yet so they hash around 25GH/s per board.
For now some photos, next few days I will do some more tests and tuning. I realy like these boards you should get some too!
