Gulden wallet on a Raspberry Pi 3

Yes we are back again, long time no update here but I am trying to spend some more time again on my website. I have been busy with two new things in the world of crypto coins, first one is : Gulden ,great (scrypt) coin made in Holland ! awesome features, fast confirmations, strong community, great support, many nice features also check: nocks . Second is the Raspberry Pi 3 ! released on february 29 2016 and it is 64 bit ! also build-in wifi and blue-tooth. So I ordered on with powersupply and 32GB  SDcard at Sossolutions.nl and received the Pi3 within 2 days. Now combine the two, let install the Gulden wallet on the Raspberry Pi 3.

First thing is to install an OS on the Pi 3, I choose Raspbian and used the NOOBS way to install it, simply following their instructions and you have installed Raspbain in no time.

Once Raspbian is installed and your Pi is started up we can start to install the Gulden wallet.

Latest version: v1.5.5.0 (19-11-2015)
Source: https://github.com/gulden/gulden-official

Open a new terminal window, be sure you are in you home folder but it should start in you home folder as soon as you open Terminal. Execute these commands:

first we update repositories
pi@raspberrypi:~ $ sudo apt-get update
install dependencies we need for the Gulden wallet
pi@raspberrypi:~ $ sudo apt-get install build-essential libtool autotools-dev autoconf pkg-config libssl-dev libdb-dev libdb++-dev libboost-dev libboost-chrono-dev libboost-filesystem-dev libboost-program-options-dev libboost-system-dev libboost-test-dev libboost-thread-dev libtool
install dependencies we need to compile QT needed for a wallet with GUI
pi@raspberrypi:~ $ sudo apt-get install libqt4-dev libprotobuf-dev protobuf-compiler libqrencode-dev
download Gulden source files
pi@raspberrypi:~ $ git clone https://github.com/Gulden/gulden-official
go to the Gulden folder
pi@raspberrypi:~ $ cd gulden-official
run autogen.sh
pi@raspberrypi:~/gulden-official $ ./autogen.sh
run configure
pi@raspberrypi:~/gulden-official $ ./configure --with-incompatible-bdb --enable-cxx --disable-shared --with-pic --prefix=$BDB_PREFIX
run make : this can take a while, 30 or more minutes
pi@raspberrypi:~/gulden-official $ make
run make install
pi@raspberrypi:~/gulden-official $ sudo make install

when everything is done you can start up the wallet
once the wallet is started it should start syncing with the blockchain.

In the picture above you see it is importing from a bootstrap.dat file, if you don’t have a bootstrap.dat it will sync with the network.
